Board Member

Qahir Dhanani is a Partner & Associate Director at Boston Consulting Group. He serves as a leader in BCG’s International Development, Climate & Sustainability, and Public Sector leadership teams working with multilateral institutions, bilateral donor agencies, foundations, governments, community organizations, NGOs, and the private sector.

He has over 16 years of experience working across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Europe, and North America, advising senior executives and officials on policy and programmatic issues such as strategy, climate action, climate finance, adaptation & resilience, economic and social development, coalition building, infrastructure, innovation, entrepreneurship, job creation, and poverty alleviation, as well as on operational issues such as organizational design, agile transformation, process excellence, change management, and leadership development.

Qahir previously served as an Advisor to the CEO, COO, and Senior Vice President of Operations at the World Bank, supporting them on a myriad of strategic, organizational, and operational issues. Also at the World Bank, Qahir built and managed a portfolio of over $500 million in lending operations focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, job-creation, and competitiveness in numerous countries.

Before the World Bank, he held various positions within the Aga Khan Development Network. He currently serves in an honorary capacity on the Secretariat of the Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum, the global social governance body of Ismaili Muslim Community.

Qahir holds an MBA and an MPP from Harvard University and a BA from Cornell University. He was a visiting scholar at Oxford University. He lives in Washington, DC with his wife and two daughters.
