The National Young Leaders State Conference (NYLSC) is sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC), an independent educational organization dedicated to identifying and nurturing leadership. CYLC is not affiliated with any political party or the federal government.  Now in its 25^th year, its mission is to “foster and inspire young people to achieve their full leadership potential.”

CYLC has sponsored the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC), the Junior National Young Leaders Conference Alumni Boston (JrNYLC Alumni Boston) and the National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC). In addition, CYLC has also sponsored programs for high-achieving students from around the world: the Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC) and the Global Young Leaders Summit (GYLS). CYLC now offers curriculums tailored to outstanding 6^th & 7^th and 8^th & 9^th graders: the National Young Leaders State Conference.
